Milwaukee Express and Ice Shack play the second game of their season series this Sunday at 5:15 at the friendly confines of the Ozaukee Ice Center north rink.
Last time out, amidst all the commotion around Alan Kimmel and his bobblehead, the two teams skated to a tie in regulation, with Ice shack winning in the shootout.
Similar to last time, Express is coming off a big win against Gecko, and Ice Shack is coming off a big loss to Entech.
"They've got a lot of talent on that team," said MKE Express executive vice president of coachspeak Seth Levine. "We just have to take it one game at a time. One shift at a time. One shot at a time. You score on zero percent of the shots that you don't take. If we play a full 60 minutes, we should have a chance to have some success. At the end of the day, it is what it is. We get some goal scorer's goals in those dirty areas, and give 110%, we should be able get the two points."
Despite not being asked to continue, Levine did.
"See, if we have a full team effort, we'll get all the bounces, and be able to avoid any upper-body or lower-body injuries. Win some battles along the boards, create some traffic in front of the net, and just have a higher level of compete than the other guys. That's what we need to do."
I asked Levine if that's the way he always talks. He said no..."just in front of the morons in the hockey media."
"How about I break it down for you like this. Here's the gameplan. Stop Kimmel, stop Darling, and above all else....stop Featherstone."
